Re-visiting Tickell’s thoughts on neoliberalism

The University of Sussex has been consumed by discussion of the national UCU / UUK pension dispute, but our Vice-Chancellor Adam Tickell has refused to publicly support striking workers. In light of this decision, I decided to re-visit the interview Mr Tickell granted me when he first joined Sussex in 2016. I had asked him about his academic expertise in neoliberalism, and how this might effect the way he would run the university.

After tweeting this thread, I saw that other people were interested in the perspectives Tickell had expressed in that first interview about his plans – and that they could indeed have potential to clarify some of his background attitudes towards neoliberalism within the university.
